What is Domestic Violence Assistance?

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that collects household items for domestic violence victims and their children. Once the lady leaves the violent home and starts over in an abuse-free house, we give them the basic essentials for FREE in order to help them start over.

Why do we do this?

I started this organization because I am a 5 year SURVIVOR of domestic violence as well as my son. We lived through the abuse for almost 4 years before deciding to get out in 2003. I know how hard it is to start over when you have nothing but the clothes on your backs, as it was with us.
Most women who are victims of domestic abuse find they have to leave immediately in order to protect themselves and their child(ren). Consequently, they leave with just the clothes they're wearing. When they start a new, abuse-free life, they usually have nothing and no financial means to buy the simplest items. We give them the chance to receive household items for free.
Children often leave behind their favorite toy, book or favorite article of clothing, so we give them toys and clothing.
By helping them this way they can focus on an abuse-free lifestyle and getting their life back in order.

Where do you get your items?

We take donations from community members such as yourself. We have several businesses who donate new items and we shop around at garage sales and stores to buy other household items.

How can I help?

You can help by donating items. We can pick up any furniture you have to donate that is in good condition when we are in need of it. You can also make a monetary donation by clicking the link below or mailing an in-kind donation which is tax deductible as we are 501(c)(3) organization.
